Lyrics of Damodar Ashtakam :
Namamishwaram sach-chid-ananda-rupam
Lat-earring the shining man in Gokula
Yashoda-with mortar running
The gopīs quickly rushed to the very place when they were touched. 1.
Namāmīśvaraṁ sac-cid-ānanda-rūpaṁ
lasat-kuṇḍalaṁ gokule bhrājamanam
yaśodā-bhiyolūkhalād dhāvamānaṁ
Parāmṛṣṭam Atyantato Drutya Gopyā ॥ 1॥
Crazing the eyes of the crying again and again
Satanka-eye with the pair of hands
Looking breath-treaming-trikhanka-kantha
The stationary grave is bound by devotion to the Lord. 2॥
rudantaṁ muhur netra-yugmaṁ mṛjantam
Karāmbhoja-yugmena sātaṅka-netram
muhuḥ śvāsa-kampa-trirekhāṅka-kaṇṭha
sthita-graivaṁ dāmodaraṁ bhakti-baddham ॥ 2.
Thus, in the Ananda-kunda, by their own pastimes,
Sminging his voice and announces him
The devotees of his desired-knowing devotees
Again, out of love, I bow to him, who is a hundredfold. 3.
Itīdṛk sva-līlābhir ānanda-kuṇḍe
sva-ghoṣaṁ nimajjantam ākhyāpayantam
tadīyeṣita-jñeṣu bhaktair jitatvaṁ
punaḥ prematas taṁ śatāvṛtti vande ॥ 3.
Better, God, salvation, not liberation or death.
I don't ask for a chanya 'I am from the Varesha.
This is your body, Nath Gopal-Bala
What else can I do with my mind? 4.
varaṁ deva mokṣavadhiṁ na mokṣāvadhiṁ vā
na canayaṁ vṛṇe 'haṁ vareṣād apīha
idaṁ te vapur nātha gopāla-bālaṁ
Sadā me manasy āvirāstāṁ kim anyaiḥ ॥ 4.
This is your face with the very blue-blue
Surrounded by locks of smooth and greasy blood
Again and again, the image-red lips of the image.
The minds of the mind were not enough for the lakhs of lakhs. 5.
idaṁ te mukhāmbhojam atyanta-nīlair
vṛtaḿ kuntalaiḥ snigdha-raktaiś ca gopyā
muhuś cumbitaṁ bimba-raktādharaṁ me
manasy āvirāstām alaṁ lakṣa-lābhaiḥ ॥ 5.
Namo Dev Damodara Ananta Vishnu
Have mercy on the ocean of suffering, Lord.
Kripa-drishti-vrishtyaati-dinanam tanu
Take this ignorant man who is visible to the eyes. 6.
Namo Deva Dāmodarānanta Viṣṇu
Prasīda prabho duḥkha-jālābdhi-magnam
kṛpā-dṛṣṭi-vṛṣṭyāti-dīnaṁ batānu
gṛhāṇeṣa mām ajñam edhy akṣi-dṛśyaḥ ॥ 6.
Kuvera’s sons, as the bound-image.
You have released the two devotees of devotion
and give me your own devotion to love
I have no planet in liberation, and there is no planet in this world. 7.
Kuverātmajau baddha-mūrtyaiva yadvat
Tvayā mocitau bhakti-bhājau kṛtau ca
tathā prema-bhaktiṁ svakāṁ me prayaccha
na mokṣe graho me 'sti dāmodareha ॥ 7.
Namas te 'stu damne sphurad-dipti-dhamne
Your abdomen is the abode of the world
Namo Radhikayai Tvadiya-priyayai
I offer my obeisances to you, O God, who plays for the infinite. 8.
Namas te 'stu dāmne sphurad-dīpti-dhāmne
Tvadīyodarāyātha viśvasya dhāmne
Namo Rādhikāyai Tvadīya-priyāyai
Namo 'nanta-līlāya devāya tubhyam ॥ 8.
