Game explanation

Round 1 – In the news

Answer 5 multiple choice questions on various topics within the time limit. Do you have the news facts straight?

Round 2 – The hints

We are looking for the last name of a person from the news. Up to 4 hints will appear to help you. The sooner you know, the more points you earn!

Finale – The News Cannon

Do you know the answer to the open questions from the news cannon? Your time is limited, so don't overthink it! The number of points you earn here determines your news factor. If you don't know the answer, you can adjust the question. Please note: incorrect answers will result in penalty points!

Winner

The points you scored in rounds 1 and 2 are multiplied by the news factor you achieved in the final. Do you have the highest total score? Then you are the winner! With an equal number of points, time is decisive.

The current News Challenge

Radio 1 challenges you: are you the biggest news expert in the Netherlands? In the current News Challenge you play the same rounds and finals as against your friends. The questions are about the most recent news events. You play this quiz alone and try to get the highest possible score to gain a place in the rankings. Have you achieved a top score? Then you have a chance to win a nice prize and an invitation to participate in the radio quiz on Radio 1!
