MazinKaiser is a series of Japanese OAVs published in 2001, based on the television series Mazinger Z and its followers.
The work seems to constitute a chapter in itself, totally ignoring the events of Ufo Robot Goldrake: in fact the characters move in a sort of parallel history compared to the saga of the seventies.
The MazinKaiser series is decidedly more varied in tones than the previous ones and benefits from the technological progress gained from 1970 to today: therefore the skilled cards typical of the first series of Nagai disappear.
Violent and action episodes alternate with very gloomy and dramatic episodes or, on the contrary, caricatural-demented, even with a discreet erotic charge. The psychology of the characters is not particularly in -depth, as indeed the development of the plot itself.
In the seven episodes and in the mediomettegging MazinKaiser against the Nero general exhausts a series that, in reality, wants to be more a tribute to the work of Go Nagai, than a recovery of the saga.
